Families are the building blocks of a functional society. With individuals, I feel life experiences and our families are the biggest contributors to our behaviors. No two people are the same, or experience the same things, and you can’t compare their hardships with each other or your own. Saying this, it is important for us as educators to understand that every student is different. Where they come from, what their family values are, how they react to situations. It is all built and based on their families and their home lives. Within their home lives, it is crucial for students to have some kind of a support system. These students need to know that they are loved and have people rooting for them.
